Kamala Harris Revives Campaign Account, Fuels 2028 Presidential Speculation

Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris reactivated her campaign social media account on Thursday, prompting speculation about her possible candidacy in the 2028 presidential election.
In a video shared on the platform "X"—formerly known as Twitter—Harris announced her return and changed her account name from "Kamala Headquarters" to "Headquarters_67" to resonate with Generation Z. She expressed her enthusiasm, stating: "I am really excited about this!".
On TikTok, her account is simply titled "Headquarters".
The account had been dormant since February 5, 2024, following Donald Trump's announcement of his presidential victory.
Harris indicated that the renewed account will focus on engaging American youth and showcasing "some of our great brave leaders," including elected officials and community figures. She concluded her message with a call to "Stay connected, and we will meet there".
Polls suggest that Harris is currently a leading contender for the Democratic Party's nomination for the 2028 elections, ahead of California Governor Gavin Newsom and other prominent figures.
In response to Harris's announcement, the Trump campaign quickly criticized her. White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson posted on "X" saying, "Showing Kamala more is really what Democrats need," while the "Trump War Room" account quipped, "You guys, do you want more pain?" referring to the implications of her potential political resurgence.
For the past several months, Harris has been traveling across the U.S. to promote her new book titled "107 Days", which reflects on her abbreviated presidential campaign in 2024 following Joe Biden's withdrawal on July 21. In this book, the first woman to serve as U.S. Vice President assesses Biden and his administration's performance. Her ongoing promotional tour in 2026 is perceived as a prelude to a possible presidential bid.
