Israeli Drone Strike Kills Civilian in Southern Lebanon Amid Ongoing Tensions

A civilian was killed when an Israeli drone targeted his vehicle in the town of Al-Mansouri in southern Lebanon, an incident that underscores ongoing tensions despite a ceasefire agreement signed last November. Lebanese officials have accused Israel of violating the ceasefire.
According to reports from a Lebanese news agency, the drone strike occurred near Imam Musa al-Sadr Stadium, igniting a fire in the area.
The agency also noted the presence of Israeli aircraft over villages in the western sector, particularly in the Tyre district, with flares launched over the border town of Yaron.
This drone strike occurs despite the ceasefire agreement established on November 27, 2024, as the Israeli military continues operations in various regions of Lebanon.
Lebanese authorities have accused Israel of breaching the ceasefire by conducting strikes and maintaining military presence within Lebanese territory.
In response, Israel claims its operations are necessary to counter what it describes as attempts by Hezbollah to rebuild its military capabilities, asserting control over five strategic heights in the region.
Amid fears of escalating conflict, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has expressed willingness to negotiate with Israel to halt airstrikes, although there has been no response to this proposal from Israeli officials, according to media sources.
