Financial Times: Emirati Technologies Helped China Develop Missiles (PL-15) and (PL-17)

The "Financial Times" revealed on Monday that U.S. intelligence agencies obtained information indicating that the UAE transferred advanced technologies to China in 2022, which the latter used to develop long-range air-to-air missiles of the PL-15 and PL-17 models, significantly enhancing the capabilities of its fighter jets.

According to the report, the Emirati company G42 played a pivotal role in this process, as the technology was passed through the Chinese company Huawei, enabling Beijing to improve the missiles' range, targeting accuracy, and resistance to countermeasures by up to 30%.

This information has raised concerns within U.S. security circles, especially amid rising tensions over Taiwan, where it is believed that these missiles could give China air superiority in any potential confrontation.
