UK Urges X Platform to Combat Distribution of Fake Sexual Images

British authorities issued a statement today, urging the X platform, owned by Elon Musk, to take immediate measures to curb the distribution of fake (deepfake) sexual images on its network.

These demands follow reports that the AI-powered chatbot Grok, integrated into the platform, generated a considerable number of contentious images upon request, including depictions of women and underage girls in revealing attire.

British Technology Minister Liz Kendall described the content circulating on the platform as "extremely disturbing," asserting that individuals should not be subjected to harmful fake images online.

She highlighted that these targeted images disproportionately impact women and girls, emphasizing that X has a responsibility to act promptly to prevent the proliferation of such material and to protect users from digital exploitation.
