In a notable development following the widespread uproar caused by an audio leak attributed to her daughter "Mariam Amayri", the Syrian star Amel Arafa announced her intention to take legal action, confirming that she and her family are subjected to a "systematic blackmail".

The artist, who is considered one of the most prominent faces of Syrian and Arab drama, posted on her "Instagram" account, specifically through the "story" feature, a brief comment stating:
"What I am experiencing goes beyond the limits of an audio recording; there is a systematic blackmail campaign targeting me and my family .. And since the story has gone public, I have a responsibility to clarify and reveal all the circumstances".

She also attached a short conversation to her post, which she said reveals a part of the abuses she has recently faced.

* Artificial intelligence is accused in the crisis!
Arafa did not hide her displeasure at what she described as "technical exaggeration", pointing out that artificial intelligence contributed to escalating the situation, especially with her voice being available in many of her artistic works. She added:
"It is very easy for children or any party to exploit this technology to fabricate sentences I did not say".

* Background of the leak .. and her daughter in the spotlight
The audio recording attributed to her daughter "Mariam" had caused a wide uproar on social media, as it contained offensive phrases believed to have been directed at a relative due to insults towards her mother.

Arafa quickly rushed to publicly support her daughter, encouraging her to "stay strong" in the face of the campaign against her.

* Who is Amel Arafa?
It is worth noting that Amel Arafa is the daughter of the late Syrian musician Suhail Arafa, and one of the most famous stars on the Syrian screen.
She married artist Abdul Moneim Amayri in 2003 and gave birth to two daughters: Salma (born 2005) and Mariam (born 2008).
However, the marriage ended in separation in 2015.

Arafa is considered one of the stars who have maintained their status in the artistic arena despite all the transformations that Arab drama has witnessed over the past decades, and she is also known for her frankness and her concern for the privacy of her family life.
