Significant Damage in Kyiv Following Russian Drone Strike on Qatari Embassy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced today that a Russian drone has caused damage to the Qatari embassy building in the capital, Kyiv, amid overnight attacks by Russia on Ukraine.
Zelensky stated via the Telegram app that Qatar plays a mediating role in negotiations for prisoner exchanges with Russia, emphasizing that the attacks resulted in the deaths of four individuals and damage to at least 20 residential buildings.
He added: "The world needs to respond clearly, especially the United States, which Russia pays attention to. Russia must feel the consequences every time it kills and destroys infrastructure."
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the Russian military launched 36 missiles and 242 drones last night, including the use of a hypersonic missile known as "Orischnik", which Kyiv views as a test for Ukraine's allies.
The Ukrainian forces confirmed that they intercepted 226 drones and 18 missiles using their air defense systems.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga remarked that the attack, occurring near the borders of the European Union and NATO, poses a serious threat to the security of the European continent and serves as a test for the transatlantic alliance.
Meanwhile, emergency and rescue teams continue their efforts to address the aftermath of the attacks in Kyiv and other regions such as Lviv, working to restore damaged infrastructure and essential services.
