US Officials Express Support for Iranian Protesters Amid Government Crackdown

Internet Disruptions and Protest Suppression
The U.S. stance emerges during a time of significant unrest in Iran, with Western accusations directed at the authorities for isolating protesters from the outside world by interrupting communications, alongside security campaigns aimed at quelling ongoing protests.
Trump Issues Direct Warning to Tehran
In a notable escalation, U.S. President Donald Trump issued a new warning to Iranian leaders on Friday, stating:
“It would be better if you don’t start shooting, because we will shoot back.”
This remark reflects a growing toughness in Washington's rhetoric regarding internal developments in Iran and their regional implications.
Iran Responds in the Security Council
In response, Iranian Ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, blamed the United States for what he described as the transformation of peaceful protests into widespread violence and destruction. During a UN Security Council session, Iravani condemned the “illegal and irresponsible” behavior of the U.S. and accused Washington, in coordination with Israel, of interfering in Iran's internal affairs through “threats, incitement, and fostering destabilization.”
