Kamala Harris Revives Campaign Account, Sparking 2028 Presidential Speculation

Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris reactivated her campaign social media account yesterday, prompting widespread speculation regarding her potential candidacy in the 2028 presidential election.
In a video posted on the platform "X", Harris announced the rebranding of her account from "Kamala Headquarters" to "Headquarters_67", referencing the numbers 6 and 7, which resonate with Generation Z. She expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "I’m really excited about this!"
On "TikTok", the account is simply named "Headquarters".
The account had been inactive since February 5, 2024, following Donald Trump's victory announcement in the presidential election.
Harris indicated that the renewed account will focus on engaging American youth and highlighting "some of our great courageous leaders," including elected officials and civil society figures. She concluded her remarks with a call to action: "Stay in touch, see you there."
According to several polls, Harris currently leads the list of potential Democratic candidates for the 2028 election, ahead of California Governor Gavin Newsom and other notable figures.
In response to Harris' announcement, the Trump camp quickly launched a critique; White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson mocked the move on "X", stating, "Putting Kamala more in the spotlight is exactly what the Democrats need," while the "Trump War Room" account quipped, "You guys want more pain?" alluding to the prospect of her political comeback.
For several months, Harris has been traveling across the U.S. to promote her new book, "107 Days", which reflects on her shortened presidential campaign in 2024 following Joe Biden's withdrawal on July 21. In this book, the first female U.S. Vice President assesses Biden's performance and his team's efforts, while her ongoing promotional tour in 2026 is viewed as a precursor to her potential candidacy.
