Morocco's King Mohammed VI Takes Medical Leave Due to Back Pain

According to Maghreb Arab Press, Moroccan monarch King Mohammed VI is suffering from lower back pain accompanied by muscle spasms. However, his personal physician stated last Saturday that there are no signs of serious concern regarding his health.
The agency reported that this condition requires appropriate medical treatment and a period of functional rest as prescribed by His Majesty's doctor to restore normal activity.
It is noteworthy that King Mohammed VI has undergone several successful surgeries in recent years, including heart surgery in 2020 following a similar procedure in Paris in 2018, as well as a successful operation in late 2024 after suffering a broken upper arm due to a sports-related fall.
King Mohammed VI has been ruling Morocco since July 1999, following the death of his father, the late King Hassan II. He continues to oversee the country's affairs while managing his health and addressing the challenges faced by the kingdom.
