Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Meets German Chancellor to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

In a move aimed at strengthening its international relations, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed German Chancellor Friedrich Merz yesterday evening at the royal Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh.
During the official meeting, both leaders discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation and explored opportunities for development across various sectors, as well as the latest developments in regional and international affairs.
The Crown Prince also met with a delegation of German business leaders accompanying Chancellor Merz, emphasizing the goal of enhancing economic and investment collaboration between the two nations.
This meeting occurs against the backdrop of growing economic ties between Saudi Arabia and Germany, with trade volume reaching $7.6 billion in the first nine months of 2024.
Additionally, Saudi Arabia and Germany signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at establishing a hydrogen bridge, with the initial phase targeting the export of 200,000 tons of hydrogen.
The meeting reflects the Kingdom's vision to strengthen its global partnerships and enhance its role in regional and international dialogue, while Germany underscores the importance of collaboration with Saudi Arabia across various economic and political domains.
