Lebanon's Energy Minister Seeks Approval for Fuel Oil Discharge to Prevent Power Outages

Lebanon's Minister of Energy and Water, Joe Saddi, announced on social media that he has sought the Cabinet's approval for the discharge of a fuel oil shipment from a tanker provided by a Kuwaiti company.

The Minister stated that this action will enable the Lebanese Electricity Company to expedite efforts to reduce power outages and avert a nationwide blackout. He also emphasized that the shipment will not be utilized until the results of a second round of sample testing confirm compliance with specifications.
