Iran: Eight Security Forces Killed Amid Armed Unrest; Approximately 100 Arrested

State media reported that a lieutenant officer was killed during an armed attack on police station No. 11 in the city of Rudbar, Gilan province. Officer Mohammad Bour Ibrahim was shot with a hunting rifle on Friday night and succumbed to his injuries the following morning.
In Khorasan Razavi province, seven security personnel lost their lives while performing their duties in the city of Mashhad, according to the director general of the Martyrs Foundation and Charitable Affairs in the province.
In related developments, the mayor of Baharestan, located south of Tehran, announced the arrest of around 100 individuals involved in the unrest, stating that the detainees used firearms and bladed weapons in their attempts to disrupt public order.
Ongoing security disturbances have been reported in several Iranian cities. In a statement on Saturday, Major General Amir Hatami, the commander of the Iranian army, emphasized that the armed forces would continue their responsibilities in safeguarding and defending the country. He described the recent protests as a "conspiracy supported by foreign forces aimed at disrupting public order and threatening national security."
