Gaza: Israeli Strikes Kill 9 Palestinians Amid Ceasefire

Amid a continuing ceasefire, Gaza experienced renewed violence as Israeli forces conducted sporadic bombardments, leading to the deaths of nine Palestinians and injuries to others, according to reports.
Medical sources indicated that five civilians, including a child, were killed due to artillery fire from the Israeli army targeting tents in the Zeitoun and Tuffah neighborhoods in eastern Gaza, as reported by the Wafa news agency.
Additionally, four more Palestinians were killed and others injured when tents housing displaced individuals in the Qizan Rashwan area south of Khan Younis were struck.
Mahmoud Bissal, spokesperson for Gaza's civil defense, confirmed that three individuals were killed in the Qizan Abu Rashwan region, including two young men in their twenties and a 12-year-old child, whose bodies were transported to Nasser Hospital, according to the German Press Agency (dpa).
The bombardments coincided with intense exchanges of gunfire from Israeli vehicles in the eastern, central, and southern parts of the city, heightening tensions in the area.
The Israeli military reported that a unit from the Alexandroni Brigade came under fire from armed individuals during an operation in the northern sector, resulting in serious injuries to a reservist who was subsequently hospitalized.
Captain Ella, an Israeli army spokesperson, stated in a post on "X" that Israeli tanks returned fire at the armed individuals and conducted airstrikes in the region, describing the incident as a blatant violation of the ceasefire.
It is noteworthy that since the implementation of the ceasefire in October 2025, 529 Palestinians have been killed and over 1,460 others injured, while Israel has confirmed that it targets armed individuals and Hamas members.
