China Rejects Trump's Tariff Threats Against Countries Trading with Iran

China has expressed strong opposition to unilateral tariffs following U.S. President Donald Trump's threat to impose a 25% tariff on any country that engages in trade with Iran.
A spokesperson for the Chinese embassy in Washington stated:
"China's position against arbitrary tariffs is firm and clear. Trade wars have no winners, and coercion and pressure do not resolve issues."
He added: "We firmly reject all unilateral and illegal sanctions and violations of legal boundaries, and we will take all necessary measures to protect our rights and legitimate interests."
This escalation occurs amid increasing economic pressure from the United States on Tehran, as political and economic tensions between the two nations rise.
Forecasts suggest that the U.S. decision could provoke international reactions due to its potential impact on Washington's trading partners.
According to U.S. officials, Trump may consider military actions against Iran, with the possibility of initiating negotiations regarding its nuclear program after an initial strike.
Experts warn that any military escalation could lead to a significant rise in oil prices, particularly as Iran exports approximately two million barrels per day out of an estimated total of 3.2 million barrels per day.
The world is also monitoring U.S. movements toward Venezuela, where reports indicate substantial investments that reflect more of a political vision than a technical market assessment.
