South African Footballer Fakhri Lakai Involved in Traffic Incident in Cairo

In Cairo's Fifth Settlement, a traffic incident occurred involving Fakhri Lakai, a South African striker and star player for the Egyptian club Ceramica Cleopatra. The accident took place when Lakai collided with a woman who was crossing the street, resulting in multiple injuries.
According to police reports, emergency services were alerted to a collision involving an injured woman. Upon arrival, it was determined that Lakai was taken by surprise when the woman appeared in front of his vehicle, preventing him from stopping in time.
The player stated that he did not intend to hit the woman and that the accident was unintentional, as he attempted to avoid the collision.
Moataz Al-Batawi, the general football director of Ceramica Cleopatra, confirmed that Lakai immediately transported the woman to the nearest hospital for medical assistance.
Medical sources indicated that the woman sustained fractures, cuts, and bruises. The club reported that both parties reconciled after the legal proceedings were completed, and the investigation into the accident was closed.
Following the incident, Fakhri Lakai returned to regular training with his team and attended a match where Ceramica Cleopatra faced Enppi in the fourth round of the Egyptian Capital Cup to support his teammates from the stands.
Lakai is recognized as one of the top professionals in the Egyptian league, having recently joined Ceramica Cleopatra on loan from Pyramids FC and continuing to perform well this season.
