YouTube Introduces New Filters for Enhanced Video Search Experience

YouTube has unveiled important updates to its search functionality, empowering users with greater control over the content they wish to view.
Users can now filter their searches to display either Shorts or long videos, addressing previous frustrations associated with mixed results.
As reported by The Verge, the updated filters include:
• Regular Videos: Show only long videos.
• Shorts: Show only short videos.
Additionally, YouTube has discontinued the filters for Upload Date - Last Hour and Sort By Rating, citing user complaints and limited effectiveness.
However, users will still have access to upload date options such as today, this week, this month, and this year.
A new Popularity filter has been introduced, replacing the View Count option. This filter assesses videos based on view counts, watch duration, and other metrics to determine their relevance.
To further improve usability, YouTube has rebranded the Sort By feature to Prioritize, enhancing clarity for users.
These enhancements are part of YouTube's ongoing commitment to create a more efficient search experience, allowing users to easily access their preferred content, whether short clips or longer videos, without the inconvenience of mixed results.
