Afghan Migrant Arrested in Texas for Bomb Threat on TikTok

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has confirmed the arrest of an Afghan migrant who allegedly threatened to execute a suicide bombing in Texas during a live broadcast on TikTok.
The individual, identified as Mohammad Dawood Alkozi, entered the United States in September 2022 through the "Welcome Allies" program initiated by former President Joe Biden.
Trisha McAuliffe, Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security, reported that Alkozi was apprehended last Tuesday, just one day before he intended to target U.S. National Guard personnel.
According to McAuliffe, Alkozi posted a video on TikTok in which he claimed to be constructing a bomb and threatened to carry out the attack in the Fort Worth area.
The Texas Public Safety Police, along with the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force, intervened, leading to charges of making terrorist threats against him.
In the video, Alkozi expressed his intention to conduct a suicide bombing in the U.S., stating he feared neither deportation nor death. He also made threats against a group of Afghans over disputes concerning their nationality, revealing his whereabouts in Dallas and Fort Worth.
* Official Reactions and Immigration Policy Concerns
White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt commented on the incident, stating it underscores the national security challenges stemming from the Biden administration's policies over the past four years. She noted that former President Donald Trump had directed his administration to address such threats within the country.
This event follows a previous attack involving an Afghan migrant targeting National Guard members in Washington, which resulted in one soldier's death and another's serious injuries.
In response to the recent attack, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced a suspension of all immigration applications from Afghan nationals indefinitely, while the Department of Homeland Security is reviewing asylum applications approved during the Biden administration.
Additionally, former President Trump has called for a permanent halt to immigration from all developing countries until "American order is fully restored."
