The Spanish publication "Marca" has reported that Achraf Hakimi, the Moroccan international and Paris Saint-Germain defender, has sustained a ligament tear in his leg, along with minor damage to the deltoid ligament. This injury occurred during a Champions League match against Bayern Munich, following a severe tackle by Luis Diaz.
Hakimi exited the field visibly upset, and while medical evaluations indicate that surgery is not necessary, his recovery timeline is concerning.
Expected Recovery Time
According to the report, Hakimi is anticipated to be out for approximately two months, which would effectively end his playing season with Paris Saint-Germain before the year 2026.
"Marca" also noted that the chances of Hakimi participating in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, set to begin on December 21, are extremely low.
Awaiting Official Confirmation
As of now, Paris Saint-Germain has not released any official statement regarding Hakimi's injury. This has raised significant concern among the Moroccan sports community, which had hoped for Hakimi to play a pivotal role in leading the "Atlas Lions" during the continental championship on home soil.
