The opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum generated intense interaction on social media platforms in Egypt, with a significant sense of amazement at the presentation and execution, alongside opinions that the level of the ceremony was below expectations compared to the Royal Mummy Parade in 2021, which still serves as a benchmark for any event related to Egyptian antiquities.

Wide international attendance and political messages

The ceremony witnessed the attendance of a large number of leaders, officials, and prominent figures from various countries around the world, near the Giza Pyramids, where President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi confirmed that the Grand Egyptian Museum is the largest museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization.

Details of the scenes that impressed

Blogger praised the visual displays that narrated the stories of the artifacts, and the representation of the golden king Tutankhamun's treasures in the sky, alongside the fireworks, considering that the ceremony showcased aspects of pride in Egyptian identity and civilization.

Others emphasized that the Grand Egyptian Museum is the only global museum that does not contain any stolen artifacts.

An endless comparison with the Mummy Parade

Another audience felt that the ceremony for the transfer of the royal mummies was more dazzling, well-produced, and symbolically valuable, reopening the debate on comparisons once again. Meanwhile, artists and media professionals called for an end to the bullying of those responsible for the ceremony and to understand the magnitude of the pressure and challenges.

Messages of appreciation from international attendees

Several participating leaders expressed their admiration for the experience and what they saw inside the museum after their tour with the Egyptian president. The Cypriot president wrote about the historic tribute to 7000 years of Egyptian civilization, while the King of Spain shared pictures from his participation inside the museum during the official opening.
