A 7.2 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Japan, as reported by the Japanese earthquake monitoring agency. In response, local media have issued warnings regarding a potential tsunami.
Separately, the National Research Institute of Astronomy in Egypt reported a 4.9 magnitude tremor west of Turkey, detected at a depth of approximately 90 kilometers. This tremor was felt lightly by some residents in Cairo and Qalyubia but posed no risk to buildings, according to Dr. Taha Rabah.
Dr. Rabah stated that the tremors are a result of natural tectonic activity in the region, urging the public to rely on official scientific information and to refrain from exaggerating or spreading unfounded rumors.
