Scientists Warn: The World is Still Heading Towards a Dangerous Climate Future

Researchers warned that global warming still poses a serious threat despite the progress made since the signing of the Paris Climate Agreement, noting that the historical emissions of major industrial countries remain the main reason for the worsening crisis.

The scientists explained that the ongoing warming is widening the gap between rich and poor countries, which could lead to further geopolitical instability in the coming decades.

For his part, the director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, Johan Rockström, said that the current trajectory, even if it is less than 4 degrees Celsius as previously expected, still means a catastrophic future for billions of people around the world.
