Russian Envoy Credits Trump's Policies with Reducing Global Conflict Risks

Kirill Dmitriev, the special envoy of the Russian president for investment and economic cooperation, stated on Wednesday that the foreign policies of U.S. President Donald Trump have contributed to lowering the risk of a Third World War.
In a post on the social media platform "X", Dmitriev remarked, "In fact, the Third World War has been averted, and its outbreak will be prevented thanks to President Trump and his team."
He also addressed Trump's approach to the Ukrainian crisis, indicating that the U.S. president had clarified "the issue of the balance of power before a potential resolution of the conflict."
Dmitriev's comments followed a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump in Alaska on August 15, where both leaders described their discussions as "positive" and focused on finding a resolution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
This statement by the Russian envoy is notable as it represents one of the few public evaluations from a Kremlin official connecting U.S. policies during Trump's administration to a perceived reduction in the risk of global conflict escalation.
