Russia Proposes UN Resolution for Gaza Plan Implementation and International Force

Russia has submitted a draft resolution to the United Nations Security Council, requesting UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to explore practical options for implementing a comprehensive plan concerning the Gaza Strip.

According to diplomatic sources, the resolution also urges Guterres to prepare a report on the feasibility of deploying an international stabilization force in Gaza. This initiative aims to bolster security and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid amid ongoing tensions and a challenging humanitarian landscape.

This proposal aligns with ongoing international efforts to establish a sustainable ceasefire and improve conditions for reconstruction and humanitarian assistance for the residents of Gaza.

While the responses from Western nations regarding the draft remain ambiguous, analysts anticipate significant discussions within the Security Council, particularly concerning the deployment of an international force in a region marked by political and security sensitivities.
