Rami Imam Shares Childhood Lesson from Father Adel Imam After a Movie Incident

Egyptian director Rami Adel Imam recently shared a memorable childhood experience from the late 1970s, influenced by his father's well-known film Adel Imam titled "The Wallet is with Me". Rami attempted to imitate a character portrayed by his father in the movie.
During an interview on the podcast "Fadfadet Owi" hosted by director Moataz El-Tony, Rami detailed the incident:
While on the school bus, he noticed a classmate's wallet left on a seat and, inspired by the film, took it without thinking. When his classmate exclaimed, "I can't find my wallet!", the bus supervisor conducted a search, and Rami eventually returned the wallet.
The bus driver later informed Rami's parents about the incident. To his surprise, Rami found his father at home, expecting the matter to be resolved quietly.
However, he faced his first disciplinary action from his father, who emphasized that the behaviors depicted in films are not to be emulated in real life.
Rami noted that his father is more than just a comedic figure; he is a strict Egyptian parent who holds his children accountable for their academic performance.
He remarked: "My mother always updated my father on my grades, and I would feel anxious if I received any unsatisfactory results, finding my father waiting for me on the bed."
This anecdote reveals a different aspect of Adel Imam, showcasing his commitment to instilling values and responsibility in his children beyond his comedic persona.
