Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara issued a decree today, Thursday, declaring Idlib University officially established as of August 2, 2015, with its numerical staff approved from the same date, in an organizational step aimed at unifying the academic and administrative structure in the governorate.

According to the decree, the colleges of Aleppo University, along with the colleges of the Idlib branch in Salqin, have been merged into the administrative and academic structure of Idlib University, with their numerical staff to be added to the new university staff.

The decision also stipulated the transfer of faculty members and administrators from the merged colleges to Idlib University, with their legal and administrative statuses being regularized according to the decisions of the Higher Education Council and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, ensuring the stability of the academic staff and the continuity of the educational process.
