American singer Jessica Simpson celebrated eight years of recovery from alcohol addiction, affirming that the decision to quit changed the entire course of her life and restored her ability to see herself clearly.

Raw Confessions

Simpson shared a smiling photo on Instagram, stating that she made the decision to confront and let go of the destructive parts of her life, noting that alcohol suppressed her intuition, increased her fears, and disrupted her dreams.

Faith vs. Fear

She explained that she chose faith over fear, and that true strength for her was not in the struggle, but in accepting reality and fully surrendering to change.

Touching Details

Simpson mentioned that during her addiction, she felt sorry for herself, saying that alcohol deceived her and prevented her from properly dealing with her emotions. She recounted in her memoir “Open Book” that on one Halloween night, she couldn't even prepare her children due to being drunk.

More Than One Type of Addiction

She also revealed that she struggled with diet pill addiction for two decades, considering that facing this truth helped her understand the roots of her emotional and psychological issues.

Anticipated Return

Simpson is preparing to return to singing after a hiatus of about 15 years, affirming that recovery has given her the ability and clarity needed to return to songwriting and creativity once again.
