Morocco's grain imports experienced a notable increase of twenty-three percent in January compared to the same month last year, according to data from the National Union of Grain and Pulses Traders.
The total amount imported reached approximately 950,000 tons, primarily fueled by a dramatic rise in soft wheat imports, which soared by one hundred and eleven percent to 481,000 tons.
In contrast, imports of hard wheat saw a decline of thirty-three percent, totaling 121,000 tons.
