UN Security Council to Address Recent Russian Missile Attack on Ukraine

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha announced on Saturday that the United Nations Security Council will convene an extraordinary session on January 12 to address a recent significant Russian missile attack on Ukraine, which utilized an Orizhenk medium-range ballistic missile.

Sybiha stated via a post on the "X" platform that the meeting will focus on what he termed serious violations of the United Nations Charter by Russia. He emphasized that Kyiv is aiming to garner a more robust international response to these aggressive actions.

This development underscores the escalating tensions in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and presents a new challenge for the international community in addressing the implications of Russia's military escalation for both European and global security.
