In a worrying development, the esteemed Egyptian artist Sabry Abdel Moneim was transferred to the hospital a few days ago following a severe heart crisis that required urgent medical intervention, adding to a long series of health troubles that have burdened him in recent years, most notably his long battle with cancer and experiencing temporary Alzheimer’s episodes.

* A device to regulate heartbeats .. and serious complications

According to a source close to the artist, it was revealed that Abdel Moneim was admitted to the hospital after a sudden disturbance in his heartbeats, where doctors decided to perform an urgent surgical operation to implant a pacemaker.

And despite the temporary stabilization of his condition after the operation, the health condition of the veteran artist deteriorated again due to a new acceleration in the heartbeats, which required additional tests.

The doctors discovered a malfunction in the implanted device, which necessitated keeping him in the hospital under strict medical supervision to determine the cause of the malfunction and treat it.

* Effects of chemotherapy .. an exhausted heart and a deteriorating memory

Abdel Moneim had previously announced that he was diagnosed with cancer, revealing that he underwent chemotherapy for more than five years, a treatment journey that left behind severe damage, including damage to the electrical wiring of the heart, leading to repeated fainting spells.

He also explained that he suffers from temporary Alzheimer’s episodes from time to time, due to the severe physical and psychological exhaustion he experienced during the treatment period, which has left him in a critical and complex health condition that is difficult to predict its developments.

* A human tragedy: loss of savings in a scam

Health crises were not the only burdens on Abdel Moneim, as he faced a major scam incident in May 2023 in which he lost most of his savings.

At that time, security agencies revealed that the perpetrators were a gang consisting of ten individuals, half of whom had previous convictions, and four of them were arrested to continue the investigations.

* An artist by nature .. and a rich artistic career

It is worth noting that Sabry Abdel Moneim, who is the husband of the late artist Abdel Moneim Ibrahim's daughter, is considered one of the most prominent actors of his generation, having participated in dozens of television and theatrical works, and distinguished himself with his humanitarian and social roles that touched the hearts of Egyptian and Arab viewers.

Abdel Moneim received wide appreciation from both the audience and critics alike, thanks to his calm and simple performance and his unique ability to portray real characters with sincerity and depth, ensuring that his name remains etched in the artistic memory despite the pain he endures behind the scenes of illness and silence.
