Extensive Damage in Kyiv Following Russian Drone Strike on Qatari Embassy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Friday that a Russian drone struck the Qatari embassy in the capital, Kyiv, during overnight attacks by Russia against Ukraine.
Zelensky stated via the messaging app "Telegram" that Qatar is playing a mediating role in discussions regarding prisoner exchanges with Russia. He also reported that the attacks resulted in the deaths of four individuals and inflicted damage on at least 20 residential buildings.
He added: "A clear response from the world is necessary, especially from the United States, as Russia is attentive to the signals it receives. Russia must feel the consequences every time it kills and destroys infrastructure."
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that the Russian military launched 36 missiles and 242 drones overnight, including a hypersonic missile of the Orishnik type, which Kyiv views as a test for its allies.
The Ukrainian forces confirmed they intercepted 226 drones and 18 missiles using their air defense systems.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga remarked that the attack, occurring near the borders of the European Union and NATO, poses a serious threat to the security of the European continent and serves as a test for the transatlantic alliance.
Emergency teams and ambulances are continuing rescue operations to address the aftermath of the attacks in Kyiv and other regions, including Lviv, while efforts are underway to restore damaged infrastructure and essential services.
