The institution issued an official statement cautioning against sharing any private card information, including the secret number and verification code, emphasizing that it never requests such information through messages, phone calls, or applications. Any such requests are deemed fraudulent. Customers are urged to report any entity claiming to represent the postal service through official channels.
In a related context, some victims reported fraud attempts involving enticing online vehicle purchase offers, where scammers requested the secret card number to finalize transactions. Others realized the deceit after sending their secret code, which prevented them from withdrawing their funds completely.
Information and communication technology expert Raouf Belarbi stated that users of financial cards and applications must commit to not sharing sensitive data, even with family or on social media. He noted that the secret number alone is sufficient to secure an account unless disclosed to fraudsters.
