Iran Claims Advancements in Missile Capabilities Amid Israeli Concerns

In a statement highlighting the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, Iranian military spokesperson General Abu Fazl Shakarji declared that Tehran's defensive, missile, and drone capabilities have "taken the initiative over the enemy." This announcement was made during a visit by cultural officials to an exhibition organized by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Shakarji, who serves as the assistant for cultural affairs and soft warfare in the General Staff, stated that "all displayed equipment is entirely domestically produced, resulting from the efforts of scientists, air force personnel, and the Ministry of Defense," according to the Fars news agency.
He further claimed that the armed forces have "rapidly accelerated the process of enhancing missile capabilities," asserting that Iranian forces have improved their readiness for potential confrontations with Israel after identifying and addressing previous weaknesses.
In contrast, Israeli media reports indicate growing concerns regarding Iran's swift recovery of military capabilities. An Israeli military representative informed a closed session of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Security Committee that Iran has resumed ballistic missile production "at an elevated pace." This comes roughly six months after a 12-day conflict between the two nations in June 2025, as reported by the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
It is noteworthy that during the previous conflict, Israel conducted strikes on missile storage and production sites within Iran, as well as on nuclear facilities, resulting in the deaths of numerous military leaders and nuclear scientists. The Israeli government has publicly committed to preventing Tehran from regaining its military and nuclear capabilities, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stating that the confrontation is far from over.
In related developments, several Western diplomats and international observers have warned of a high likelihood of renewed direct military confrontation between Israel and Iran, given the escalating military rhetoric and actions from both sides.
