Intensified Diplomatic and Intelligence Activity in Damascus as Russian, Turkish, and U.S. Delegations Meet

Damascus is currently experiencing heightened international activity, marked by the arrival of intelligence and political delegations from major powers to address urgent security matters that enhance Syria's role on the global stage.
Sources from Al Arabiya/Al Hadath reported on Sunday that a Russian intelligence delegation and a Turkish intelligence team are conducting meetings in the Syrian capital, focusing on sensitive security issues across various regions of the country.
Additionally, a delegation from the U.S. Congress has arrived in Damascus to engage in discussions related to security matters, notably concerning the Syrian coast, the Caesar Act, and associated sanctions.
"A Shift from Isolation to Partnership"
This diplomatic activity follows remarks by U.S. envoy Tom Brack, who stated that Syria is undergoing a "notable transformation from isolation to partnership," highlighting the increasing international openness towards Damascus.
These comments came after Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara's visit to the White House last week, where he met with President Donald Trump. During the meeting, Trump commended al-Shara's efforts to steer Syria towards reconstruction and stability.
These developments indicate a potential shift in international approaches to the Syrian issue, suggesting the possibility of entering a new phase of more open negotiations and security cooperation between Damascus and various influential capitals.
