On Monday, tech reports indicated that Google is testing a new feature that enables users to change their email address in Gmail without losing messages, data, or account access.
According to the information, the old email address will remain active and will continue to receive messages in the same inbox, while the new address will be used to log into Google services such as YouTube, Google Drive, and Google Maps, retaining all previous data.
Google clarifies that this feature can be used a maximum of three times, at a rate of once every 12 months, and the old address can only be removed if the entire account is deleted.
The feature is currently in a limited testing phase, and the company has not disclosed an official date for a global rollout.
