Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza Kill Nine Palestinians Amid Ceasefire

Despite the ongoing ceasefire in Gaza, the region has witnessed a new escalation as Israeli forces conducted a series of airstrikes, resulting in the deaths of nine Palestinians and injuries to others, according to reports.
Medical sources reported that five civilians, including a young girl, were killed due to artillery bombardments by the Israeli military on tents in the Zeitoun and Al-Tuffah neighborhoods in eastern Gaza City, as stated by the Wafa news agency.
Additionally, four more Palestinians were killed and others injured following an attack on displaced persons' tents in the Qizan Rashwan area south of Khan Younis.
Mohammed Bissal, a spokesperson for the civil defense in Gaza, confirmed that three individuals died in the Qizan Abu Rashwan area, including two young men in their twenties and a 12-year-old boy, whose bodies were transferred to Nasser Medical Complex, according to the German news agency dpa.
The bombardments coincided with intense gunfire from Israeli forces in the eastern, central, and southern parts of the city, further escalating tensions in the area.
The Israeli military reported that a unit from the Alexandroni Brigade (3) was attacked by militant gunfire during an operation in the northern sector, resulting in the serious injury of a reserve officer who was subsequently hospitalized.
Israeli military spokesperson Captain Ella stated on "X" that Israeli tanks returned fire against militants and conducted airstrikes in the area, describing the incidents as a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement.
It is important to note that since the implementation of the ceasefire in October 2025, 529 Palestinians have been killed and over 1,460 injured, while Israel claims to be targeting militant sites and Hamas elements.
