Yemen's National Shield Forces Initiate Security Operation at Al-Riyan Airport

In a bid to enhance security and stability, Yemen's "National Shield" forces have commenced a comprehensive security operation aimed at recovering assets and weapons that were taken from Al-Riyan Airport in Mukalla during recent unrest.
The operation is being conducted under the guidance and support of the local authority in Hadhramaut Governorate, with the objective of preventing further looting and disorder while establishing a secure environment.
The initiative has led to the recovery of significant amounts of heavy weaponry, military gear, and ammunition, as well as other state-owned properties.
To strengthen security coordination, a meeting was convened in Mukalla, led by Brigadier General Salem Ahmed Basloom, Chief of Staff of the Second Military Region. The meeting focused on collaboration between regional brigades and the "National Shield" forces along the Hadhramaut coast, highlighting the need for unified efforts to maintain security and restore normalcy.
Meanwhile, Aden has received a new contingent of "National Shield" forces, working alongside the Giants Brigades to safeguard critical infrastructure. Reports indicate that the situation in Aden has stabilized for the third consecutive day, with the anti-terrorism unit actively engaged in protecting the city.
The forces have outlined their responsibilities in Aden, which include enhancing security, safeguarding institutions and properties, and reinforcing the state's presence throughout the area. This organized approach prioritizes discipline and readiness, in full cooperation with relevant authorities and under the directives of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
This security operation is part of ongoing efforts to secure public safety and reinforce stability in both Hadhramaut and Aden, as the state seeks to avert chaos and protect both public and private assets.
