Global actor Leonardo DiCaprio was unable to attend the Palm Springs International Film Awards, where he was set to be honored, due to air travel disruptions caused by military tensions in Venezuela.

DiCaprio, 51, was slated to receive the "Desert Palm" Achievement Award for his role in the film One Battle After Another. However, last-minute flight restrictions prevented his attendance.

The festival organizers noted that DiCaprio was vacationing on St. Barts with friends when air travel was disrupted following airstrikes ordered by the Trump administration on Venezuelan targets.

A spokesperson for the festival commented:
"We were eager to have Leonardo DiCaprio with us, but unforeseen circumstances made that impossible. Nonetheless, receiving this honor is a significant moment for the festival."

DiCaprio addressed the audience through a pre-recorded acceptance speech that was played during the event. The award was presented on his behalf by Teyana Taylor and Chase Infinite. Festival president Nachatar Singh Chandi praised DiCaprio's career, stating that his latest performance reinforces his reputation as one of the most influential actors in modern cinema.

This incident occurs amid heightened U.S. military actions targeting the Venezuelan capital of Caracas and various military installations, which have resulted in the cancellation and rerouting of numerous flights within the Caribbean region.
