Trump Calls for Resolution to Partial Government Shutdown Amid Economic Concerns

U.S. President Donald Trump has urged Congress to resolve the partial government shutdown that began on Saturday, following the House's failure to pass budget legislation before the January 30 deadline.
In a post on the "Truth Social" platform, Trump stated that he is collaborating with Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson to address the situation, expedite the budget process, and ensure it reaches his desk for swift approval.
Trump remarked: "We cannot afford a lengthy, unproductive shutdown that could have serious repercussions for our nation."
Last Friday, the Senate reached a consensus on temporary funding; however, a House vote on the new budget proposals is not anticipated until Tuesday, after which the president is expected to sign them into law.
This shutdown follows a recent incident in Minneapolis involving gun violence that resulted in the deaths of American citizens, linked to stricter deportation policies enacted by the Trump administration.
As a result of the shutdown, several government agencies have halted operations due to insufficient funding, although its current impact is less severe than the previous 43-day shutdown in November, which marked the longest in U.S. history.
In an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday, Johnson emphasized their objective of securing budget funding by Tuesday to prevent a repeat of the extensive shutdown crisis.
This partial shutdown coincides with a notable increase in metal markets, as gold and silver prices have risen by over 2% following a recent sell-off.
