Trump Responds Sharply to CNN Reporter at Epstein Press Conference

In a press conference at the White House yesterday evening, U.S. President Donald Trump addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding newly released documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, who died by suicide in prison in 2019. Trump asserted that the files did not implicate him and called for a shift in focus to other pressing issues facing Americans.

The exchange escalated when CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins questioned Trump about the rights of Epstein's victims, asking, "What do you say to those who feel they have not received justice?"

Trump reacted with visible anger, labeling Collins as the "worst journalist" and claiming she was a "disgrace" to her profession. He added, "Do you know why you don't smile? Because you're not telling the truth... Your lying institution should be ashamed of you."

Collins maintained her stance, emphasizing her concern for the survivors and their pursuit of justice, as tensions between the president and the media, particularly CNN, continue to rise.

This confrontation occurs as the public reassesses the Epstein case, which has been marred by serious allegations of child exploitation and human trafficking. Epstein, who had previously accepted a controversial plea deal in 2008, was re-arrested in 2019 but died in custody the following August, prompting numerous conspiracy theories regarding his connections with various political and celebrity figures.

While Trump seeks to redirect attention to other matters, his remarks underscore the ongoing friction between his administration and the media, particularly regarding sensitive topics like Epstein's past.
