In a recent incident that raised eyebrows among football fans, Thomas Frank, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, was spotted holding a cup featuring the logo of rival Arsenal during his team's match against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

The image quickly circulated on social media, leading fans to question the presence of an Arsenal-branded cup in the hands of the Spurs manager.

In response to the speculation during the post-match press conference, Frank labeled the discussions as "utterly ridiculous."

He stated: "I certainly didn't notice that, and it would be absolute stupidity to intentionally hold a cup with the Arsenal logo. This is just an ordinary cup for having espresso before the match, and it was in the changing room after Arsenal's previous match."

Regarding the match outcome, Tottenham suffered a 3-2 defeat after initially taking the lead with a goal from Mathys Tel in the fifth minute.

Bournemouth responded with two goals from Evander and Eli Junior Kroupi, followed by a stunning equalizer from João Palhinha with an overhead kick in the 78th minute.

In the closing moments, Antoine Semenyo netted the decisive goal for Bournemouth ahead of his anticipated transfer to Manchester City.

This defeat leaves Tottenham struggling in 2026, still searching for their first win and currently positioned in 14th place in the Premier League standings with 27 points, having secured only two victories in their last 12 matches.

Tottenham's next fixture will be at home against Aston Villa in the FA Cup on Saturday, followed by a league match against West Ham United the following week.

As the team seeks to regain its footing this season, the focus remains on Frank and the controversy surrounding the Arsenal cup.
