Today, at the centers of the universities of Homs, Damascus, and Al-Manara Private University, the final round of the Syrian University Programming Contest (SCPC 15) in its fifteenth edition was launched, with the participation of 78 teams representing 22 public and private universities, under the supervision of 47 coaches.

The participating teams are engaged in an intense competition for five continuous hours to solve a set of complex programming problems, according to the global standards of the contest, where three students work with their coach on one computer to solve as many problems as possible in the fields of algorithms, applied mathematics, and data structures.

In this context, the director of the university programming contest in Syria, Rabi' Shaheen, stated in a statement from the Homs University center: "The winning teams will qualify to represent Syria in the regional contest for Arab universities scheduled to be held in Egypt next December," noting that "the Homs University center includes 111 students distributed over 37 teams."

Shaheen added that the correction process is conducted through a dedicated automated system that evaluates the solutions accurately and quickly, considering that the colored balloons that are hung on the teams' tables when solving each problem "add a lively character to the atmosphere of the competition, turning the hall into a colorful artwork reflecting the participants' progress moment by moment."

Regarding the preparation of the teams, coach Moussa Al-Siyoufi from Homs University explained that the university "participated in the contest this year with ten teams, which were prepared through a training camp that progressed through three levels."

A number of participating students viewed this competition as "an opportunity to learn, gain experience, and interact with colleagues from various Syrian universities, in a comfortable organizational atmosphere."

It is worth mentioning that the university programming contest is held annually to enhance students' abilities in algorithmic thinking and teamwork, and it serves as a key station for selecting talents that will represent Syria in regional and international forums.
