Pavel Durov, founder of the Telegram messaging app, has ignited controversy following a sarcastic remark about French President Emmanuel Macron on platform X. In his comment, he responded to a follower regarding symbols from an earlier satirical project.
Durov shared an image related to a project he described as a "sperm donation program," featuring a logo that includes two circles and the letters "PD," which are his initials.
The Comment and Sarcasm
One follower noted that the abbreviation "PD" is often used in French as a derogatory term aimed at gay individuals. Durov replied sarcastically:
"So this will be a non-gay project pretending to be gay. Like the President of France, but the other way around!" He included an upside-down smiley emoji 🙃 with his comment.
Ongoing Controversy Surrounding Macron
It is important to note that President Macron has previously faced similar scrutiny. In December 2021, a French journalist claimed that his wife, Brigitte Macron, is not a woman but a man named Jean-Michel, a claim that gained traction in international media.
This incident underscores the ongoing media scrutiny surrounding Macron, while Durov's sarcastic comments continue to provoke varied reactions across social media platforms.
