Mohamed Sami's Acting Debut in '8 Shots' Faces Setback

Renowned Egyptian director Mohamed Sami has encountered an unexpected challenge in his debut as an on-screen actor in the drama series titled "8Shots".
Sami was set to co-star with Fathi Abdel Wahab, under the direction of Ahmed El-Masry, who was making his directorial debut. However, the project has been permanently suspended, with no official explanation given for the halt.
Sources indicate that Sami faced multiple obstacles related to the production and marketing of the series, compounded by the withdrawal of several cast members, which ultimately led to a complete standstill in preparations.
Despite this setback, Sami remains resolute in his pursuit of acting opportunities. He has begun searching for a new dramatic script to fulfill his aspiration of appearing on screen.
* New Project Focused on Education
According to insiders, Sami is now considering a new script that addresses the education crisis in Egypt. He will portray a character who challenges the "private tutoring mafia" and those who exploit students financially.
Through this role, Sami aims to present a positive representation of educators and encourage students to adopt modern and effective study methods, while tackling core issues affecting the education system.
No filming date has been announced for this new project, but Sami's enthusiasm for this venture is apparent.
* Temporary Withdrawal from Directing for Study
It is noteworthy that Sami had a strong presence during last Ramadan's season, directing two successful series, "Ish Ish" and "Sayyid Al-Nas". He has since announced a temporary withdrawal from directing to focus on acting and personal pursuits.
In a surprising decision, Sami has traveled abroad, stating that after 15 years of continuous work, he wanted to avoid audience saturation with his style and the risk of becoming repetitive. He confirmed that his travel is related to studies, as he plans to spend two years learning something he has aspired to study for years but had postponed due to his artistic commitments.
His wife, Mai Omar, affirmed that Sami's intensive work during Ramadan necessitated a period of rest and recovery away from the pressures of filming.
