Lebanon's Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri announced that an agreement between Beirut and Damascus is scheduled for signing next week. This agreement will facilitate the transfer of approximately 300 Syrian detainees from Lebanese prisons to the authorities in Syria, following the approval from the Lebanese Cabinet.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to resolve longstanding issues between the two nations, aiming to reshape their bilateral relations in light of the political changes that have occurred in Syria since the ousting of former President Bashar al-Assad.
