Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharib Abadi announced that there is currently no uranium enrichment occurring in the country. He explained that the facilities targeted by Israel have become inaccessible, leading to a complete disruption of their operations.
During a conference titled "International Law Under Attack," Abadi noted that all bombed facilities were under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He emphasized that the agency has never before observed the targeting of nuclear facilities belonging to a member state.
Abadi clarified that the attacks specifically impacted enrichment facilities, and Tehran has not permitted IAEA visits because it is unable to access certain sites due to security risks and the presence of unused materials that hinder inspections.
Regarding a draft resolution against Iran in the IAEA Board of Governors, Abadi stated that supporting nations are demanding a halt to enrichment activities, a prohibition on rebuilding facilities, and a return to negotiations. He accused these countries of attempting to increase pressure on Iran despite its provision of essential information to the agency.
In response to Israeli allegations of Iran pursuing nuclear weapons, Abadi dismissed these claims as "ridiculous," highlighting that Israel possesses the largest stockpile of weapons of mass destruction while exerting pressure on Iran.
