FIFA President Gianni Infantino has revealed a new agreement to host The Best FIFA Football Awards in Dubai beginning in 2026, a decision that underscores the city’s growing reputation as a prominent global sports destination.

The announcement was made during the Global Sports Summit, sponsored by Dubai, which attracted over 1,500 leaders, experts, and athletes from around the world. The summit took place in Madinat Jumeirah under the theme: "Uniting the World Through Sports."

The Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council stated that the summit serves as an essential platform to explore the future of sports worldwide, celebrate athletic achievements, support emerging talent across various sports, and emphasize the role of sports in fostering community unity and inspiring future generations.

The event features a range of officials from major sports federations and clubs, alongside industry representatives and sports icons including Ronaldo Nazário, Novak Djokovic, Paula Badosa, and Oleksandr Usyk.

The first day of the summit included presentations from Khalfan Jumaa Belhoul, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, and Gianni Infantino, focusing on the topic "The Next Ninety Minutes." Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa also spoke on the significance of sports in Bahrain.

The second day will include sessions that cover mixed martial arts, football, sports management, investment in sports, and the interplay between sports figures and the fashion industry, fostering an environment of discussion and interactive workshops.

The summit will conclude with a special session featuring World Cup stars and coaches such as Ronaldo, Cafu, Puyol, Iniesta, Deschamps, and Cannavaro, moderated by Italian football legend Alessandro Del Piero.
