A disturbing incident has emerged from the Ain Shams district of Cairo, where the dismembered remains of a woman in her thirties were discovered in multiple locations.
Confession of the Suspect
Law enforcement officials apprehended a suspect who confessed during questioning on Monday that he attempted to sexually assault the victim. He stated that when she screamed, he fatally stabbed her in the neck.
Dismemberment and Disposal of Evidence
The suspect disclosed that he dismembered the body into five parts and disposed of the remains in various locations to evade detection:
The victim's head was discarded onto the tracks of the Helmiya El-Zeitoun metro station, with the intention of making identification difficult.
The other body parts were left on Abdel Hamid Osman Street, along the extension of Manshiet El-Tahrir, and in an empty lot on Ain Shams Street.
Witness Accounts and Arrest
Several residents in the Manshiet El-Tahrir area reported observing an individual discarding a bag in the street shortly after dawn prayers, before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle. This information aided authorities in capturing the suspect.
Legal Proceedings
The remains have been sent to Zinhom Morgue under the jurisdiction of the public prosecution. The suspect is currently being held for four days as the investigation continues.
