In a surprising development, artist Mohamed Ramadan entered a period of mourning after announcing the death of his father, who passed away early this Friday morning, amid the legal crisis he is experiencing following a court ruling issued against him yesterday, Thursday.

Ramadan announced through his official Instagram account the death of his father, directing prayers for mercy and forgiveness. He wrote in a post: "After the dawn of this Friday, November 7, 2025, my dear father returned to the abode of eternity and stability, may God have mercy on him and grant him a place in His vast paradise, along with all your deceased.. Indeed, we belong to God and indeed to Him we will return (1948-2025)."

In a separate post, the artist clarified the details of the funeral ceremony, saying: "Indeed, we belong to God and indeed to Him we will return, my beloved father has passed away, and the funeral prayer will be held after Friday prayers at Mustafa Mahmoud Mosque in Mohandessin, followed by burial in 6 October cemeteries, O God, grant him a place in Your vast gardens."

The announcement of the death came just hours after the artist commented on the ruling issued against him by the "Doki Misdemeanor Court" in Giza Governorate, which sentenced him to two years in prison in case number 9213 for the year 2025.

The court had upheld a complaint filed by one of the lawyers, accusing Ramadan of releasing his new song "Number One Ya Ansas" on YouTube without obtaining the necessary permits. The complainant indicated in the investigation report that "the song contains phrases that incite violence and contradict societal values," calling for legal action to be taken.

For its part, the media office of artist Mohamed Ramadan issued an official statement commenting on what it described as "misleading news" regarding the crisis. The statement read: "The media office of artist Mohamed Ramadan has been following the recently published misleading and incorrect news regarding the song (Number One Ya Ansas), and the office confirms that the artist obtained all the necessary licenses and official permits from the relevant authorities before releasing the work."
