Following the meeting with the American envoy Tom Barrack, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri described it as "good and constructive".

After receiving Barrack at the Second Presidency Headquarters in Ain el-Tineh, Berri said, "The meeting was good and constructive, taking great care of Lebanon's interest, sovereignty, concerns of all Lebanese, as well as the demands of Hezbollah."

Berri had welcomed Barrack and the accompanying delegation in the presence of US Ambassador to Lebanon, Lisa Johnson, and Berri's media advisor, Ali Hamdan.

The meeting, which lasted for over an hour, addressed the developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as the political and field updates.

It is worth mentioning that during his previous visit to Beirut on June 19th, Barrack presented a plan that involves disarming Hezbollah within a maximum period of four months, in exchange for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from several locations in southern Lebanon and the cessation of Israeli airstrikes, according to Reuters.

Diplomatic sources reported that Lebanon formed a committee to draft a response to the US proposals, while it was agreed that Hezbollah would submit its comments to Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, who is responsible for coordinating the official Lebanese response, coinciding with Barrack's visit to Beirut today.
