"Avatar: The Fire and Ash" Debuts with $345 Million Worldwide in Opening Week

The film secured the second spot among the highest-grossing films of its opening week in 2025, trailing "Zootopia 2", which grossed $556 million last November.
In North America, it topped box office sales with $88 million, despite experiencing a 35% decrease in revenue compared to the previous film, "Avatar: The Way of Water", which was released in 2022.
Jeff Bock, a senior box office analyst at Exhibitor Relations, commented, "It's a strong kickoff for the holiday season," highlighting the audience's enthusiasm for returning to theaters during the Christmas and New Year period.
For context, the original "Avatar" film released in 2009 grossed approximately $2.9 billion globally, while its sequel, "Avatar: The Way of Water," earned around $2.3 billion, reinforcing Cameron's track record of box office success.
